The Piccolo XR RTU is an advanced and highly reliable two-way radio communication unit, specifically designed to deal with water and irrigation terminal equipment under harsh environmental conditions.
Designed for low power consumption, it can be supplied with a rechargeable heavy duty battery for reliable year-long operation.
Piccolo XR is part of the IRRInet XL system, extending the range of the IRRInet XL where installation of cables is impractical or unsuitable.
Piccolo XR utilizes a two-way, low power UHF radio to communicate with a Piccolo Interface Unit (PIU). The PIU provides the interface between the IRRInet XL and the Piccolo XR field RTUs. The PIU is responsible for managing the communication network with up to 248 Piccolo XRs and the IRRInet XL.
